Letterman trashing McCain

Quote from Lucrum:

1)Whatever
2)Yes, in fact I was posting daily in the P&L thread. Until Magna decided one of my posts didn't meet with ET's world renowned (cough) "standards". Despite my post saying almost exactly the same thing another mod said days later in feedback. So I decided not to participate any longer.

Fair enough.

I don't recall you posting in the P&L thread. How about YOU bigdave?

I only participate in the Options thread and automated trading threads. And then, only rarely.

3)" Credibility and audience size aren't the same thing " Sooo where does Letterman's credibility come from again?
4)Yes

Primarily from speaking the truth and more importantly being taken seriously by the public at large which is the very definition of credibility.

Then why, if you don't mind me asking, spend so much time on a TRADING web site? And not a politics site.

You mean "the truth" as YOU see it?
We all THINK we know the truth.
In reality often if not most times it's simply our understanding or PERCEPTION of the truth.

There is an election coming... and the direction of the country once again is the choice between the egghead and the everyman.

Yes, there is truth in that. However, if you believe that there's an objective truth and objective reality, then you can use facts to reach a conclusion -- as long as a person makes a conscious attempt to reduce his own bias as much as humanly possible before looking at the facts.

And you think YOU are going to influence the election with non stop McCain/Palin bashing, HERE?
:D

You seem to me to be as biased and one sided as anyone here. Apparently you're just - too biased to see it.

I haven't really been McCain bashing, and no I don't think that I'm going to influence the election.

In fact, I just posted a thread about how correcting people with facts tends to reinforce misconceptions rather than make them reconsider. It reinforces their beliefs.

So no, I don't hold out any hope that people will change their opinion.

Well we're all susceptible to bias. However, objectively speaking, one candidate is simply more qualified than the other.
