Let's talk about loneliness

Just join some country club or something. Amazon Jeff Bezos frequents The Yale Club in New York City. Aspen in CA is a lot of fun at this time of the year. Get a yacht and traveling. My friends lives in a yacht. It is a lot of fun. They travel from Florida to Newport, CT most of time.
..... Aspen in CO ....., a top ten on my list, even though it will be a lot more developed from the last time I was there.

Or that no one here has been placed to do so. Those are good ideas too.

I would be surprised - I know a few heavy weights keep an eye on this forum.
Mostly to stay close to what IBKR is doing, from an operational risk perspective.

Yes but those heavyweights weren't built here. You were built here ;-)

would you join someone like Millenium if you were in my shoes?

Give away independence by having someone looking over your shoulder, but possibly benefit from 5 to 10x day 1 capital injection pari-passu to your prop funds and a community of other managers. You are on an ejector seat from day 1 as well of course.

No I would not. BTW, golf and tennis are pretty solo games. Try hockey or basketball.

Look at the taxi drivers in New York City. Do they EVER talk to you... No. They are always on the phone talking to someone about bullshit. That's what you need.
Do you call talking about what what stock to buy is talking bullshit?

Mllenium doesn’t like vol sellers, especially put sellers who earn a significant amount of their profit from leverage.

I considered that in the past (Millennium and Worldquant)... even spoke with Englander and Tulchinsky. But in the end limited capital was not my constraint and I was not willing to give up my IP. Quite a number of more senior MD guys at my past trading desks at previous banks moved to Millennium but after just a 2 or 3 year stint they all left and now work in PM roles at several sovereign wealth funds and they seem to he happy.

I don't think going that route is the right solution for you if you are long term profitable, regardless of aum. I say that because you already mentioned that you are not gunning for absolute return maximization in life due to your cost conscious lifestyle. Same as my attitude to life.

But I can't deny that trading alongside like minded traders is the absolute best in my opinion. Perhaps start to form or join a chat room of like minded guys with a similar level of discipline and rigor. How to find those? That's the hard part I guess and has been elusive to me as well, I am also on the lookout.
