House Intel Committee subpoenas DOJ for Mueller report


The House Intelligence Committee subpoenaed the Department of Justice on Wednesday evening for "all counterintelligence and foreign intelligence materials in the probe, the full report, and underlying evidence," within the Mueller report, with House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) tweeting: "We will not be obstructed."

The backdrop: On April 25, Schiff and Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) sent a letter to the Justice Department reiterating their demand for special counsel Robert Mueller to brief the committee about his counterintelligence findings — threatening "compulsory process" if the department does not comply.

Trump Jr. subpoenaed after backing out of interviews: report

The Senate Intelligence Committee reportedly subpoenaed Donald Trump Jr. after the president’s eldest son backed out of two scheduled interviews regarding the panel’s ongoing investigation into Russian election interference, The Associated Press reported Tuesday.

Chairman Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) told colleagues at a GOP caucus luncheon last Thursday that Trump Jr. voluntarily agreed to be interviewed twice but later withdrew, three people familiar with the remarks told the AP.

Trump Jr. and the committee had been in negotiations since December and interviews were scheduled for March and April, sources familiar with Burr’s remarks told the news service.

House panel opens inquiry into claims Trump legal team edited Michael Cohen's testimony

The Democrat-led House Intelligence Committee has launched an investigation into claims brought forth by Michael Cohen, the president's former personal attorney, who has suggested that members of President Donald Trump's legal team edited his statement to Congress about a prospective Trump Tower-Moscow project.

During public testimony in March, before the House Oversight Committee, Cohen said Trump's current personal lawyer, Jay Sekulow, changed his statement to the House and Senate Intelligence Committees regarding the duration of those discussions before he submitted it to Capitol Hill.
