He did paint himself into a corner with that. His best move now is to admit his mistaken idea that Mexico would pay for it, and then follow with, that does not mean we don't need to improve border security. It would be the same as if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor. Okay, that's not exactly true now is it, but it didn't keep democrats from following thorough with their general idea. Of course democrats will say no, no no, but then we can all say that any political promise, any party platform that doesn't come off EXACTLY as delivered during some campaign speech cannot be enacted in any manner at all. Is that what we want?

I don't expect him to, but that's his best move at this point.
he is not known for his best choices. he just doesn't get it. his base will vote for him regardless of all of the madness he has caused. he should have stuck with the plan and not cave in when was pressed by likes of Coulter and Limbaugh.
That is the problem with painting oneself into a corner mixed with having mentally challenged campaign staff. The people love it, keep saying it! Government shutdowns should never happen. It punishes the wrong people. What needs to happen, but what isn't possible, is that those responsible for negotiation of these issues, house and senate, need to be given a deadline to come up with something, or resign their positions, hopefully falling on a sword...literally.

It has been proven by past comments that Dems will go for more security and even better fencing at problem areas once the babies at the top step aside. Any Dem who says no wall/border at all are just fucktards.
