I am strongly Libertarian in political belief, I support both the second amendment as well as abortion…even drug legalization/declassification. pretty much all for leaving the individual alone as much as possible to decide for themselves how to best live their life.

In re to the Thread subject, See Katz v The United States. Prima facie, this looks like a violation of a Fourth Amendment Right. If the released material is untrue, then it is even worse for Johnson.

Just being the topic of wide discussion can make one an "involuntary public figure." An "Involuntary public figures" may lose some of their Fourth Amendment rights in narrowly defined instances. However involuntary public figures, and even voluntary ones, may retain their Fourth Amendment rights against malicious assaults on their privacy, even if the publicly released material is shown to be true.

I would guess Hunter, in this specific instance would fall in the category of, "involuntary public figure." It is possible Johnson may be in some legal jeopardy. The ball would be in Hunter's court.
