I'm not sure I understand.
First, if it truly is expensive the process can be expedited by simply ejecting anyone illegally entering the country by bussing them to the nearest border and wishing them good luck. We, however, treat people marginally nicer than other countries (which you will likely vehemently disagree with) and try to organize proper repatriation to the country in question. This takes quite a bit of time and costs taxpayers money yes, but I am certainly happy my tax dollars are being put to work stopping potential cartel members from entering our country. It's a far better use of my money than, say, social security or paying the salaries of lifetime congress members of both parties who are without question a net negative to American values.
Supposing these illegals do carry identification (which most don't - I'm sure the probability of "catch and release" goes to 0 if you have ID) and said identification could be matched with 100% certainty to the birth certificate of the child in question I would imagine they would not be separated. If they are separated then, yes, that is a problem and you have a point. However, I suspect that this is not the case in the majority of detainment proceedings and so a standard procedure of "90 days separation" is put in place to stop and expeditiously process the considerable number of illegals crossing monthly.

I'm all for expedited removal if our other choice is to separate families and do a piss poor job of tracking where we're putting the minors making reunification impossible. "Catch and release" was the marginally nicer alternative to this. 90+ day holding in private prisons is in no way cheaper than repatriation.
Keep in mind all the pictures of detained children in cages shown in the media have primarily been from the Obama years.

If saying seperating families as a plan to discourage migration by making parents fear their kids will be perminantly traumatised is not an atrocity..
Expecially since this came from Stephen Miller who's own Jewish family have disowned him as too awful a person making specific reference to not learning from the holocaust when condemning him..

In any other country on the planet, they would have already been investigated, charged for corruption and other crimes including, against minors but, President Donald Trump is the bad guy? When you compare him against the Democrats, unless, you are a highly biased, extreme liberal, President Donald Trump is an angel. His worse fault is probably, being arrogant and exaggerate things at times. Atleast, he loves the US and trying to make it better? Democrats doing their hardest to destroy the US from within? And in the 4 years that President Donald Trump has been in office, what have the do nothing Democrats done? That is right, try to remove a duly elected President of the United States thru their bogus impeachment articles? In any other country, Democrats would have been arrested, charged with treason and executed by firing squad for their coup d'etat. The only reason they have not been charged is there are way too many swamp creatures still in office protecting their asses.
