I'm not sure why, in this age of brains and technology, anyone gets excited over the physical differences between two leaders of armies. "Manly man", "girly man", and all that nonsense.

It's just image, I agree. I can tell you though, the Russian desire is absolutely to see a "man's man" in their President. Putin's stories are legendary in Russia (and full of shit for the most part) and that's how he keeps the narod enthralled.

I believe you. The Russians seem to have a "Father knows best" mentality even stronger than ours. Their history appears to support that. But, you're the expert.
