Dear participants,
I am trying to get into the nature of LEAPS options, what they are, why might they be interesting to trade and why they are safer to trade. There are three questions that I was not able to find anywhere else and therefore decided to come here.
1. Why of over 4000 optionalble stocks only 750 (or so) are LEAPsed?
2. What are the main rules by which a company itself (or whoever actually decides on the issue of a LEAP) can issue a LEAP option?
3. What are some sources where I could read more about the above questions?
I have already gone through OCC and SEC websites and could not wind the answers to these questions. I will appreciate any help on this matter.
Thank you in advance,
Jamie.
