LEAPS option - Is this a good use?

Why would you recommend a value investor with very little option experience trade " verts cals or diags???

Have you backtested Covered Calls of different duration to back up your claims???
 
Thanks, all, for your inputs. Right now I am just tracking some data on stock/option price movements and learn some more TA. While I will never aspire to be a day trader, it will help me get a better feel for the market so I can learn when to let go. Again, much appreciation for your thoughts.

I sold TSLA leaps to 2024, now massively in the money buy I already use the premium to buy more stocks, don’t have the cash to close-:)(
