LCD Monitor Buying Help Needed

thx guys, very useful information. good luck getting the pixel issues sorted. i think maybe i'd get them at best buy and test them in the shop.

i have to admit, i think 19" might be overkill for me. i'd prefer the 17 or 18, but it doesn't look like best buy carries em. oh well, good luck and thanks.

So is the consensus that if you buy the 191t online rather than from Best Buy or whatever that you will not get one from Korea?

How do you know what your getting when buying online?

Just checked.
One I got from Best Buy made in Korea.

Not a likely option. I've asked for this before, but they say, "once the box is open, they can't tape it back up and sell it as new... must process as a return...". Therefore, they are reluctant to let you inspect one in their showroom.

Nope, just the opposite. I bought 5 OL, they were from Mexico and are not quite as good as the Korean one I bought from Best Buy.

Guess it then is worth a little more to pay the tax and a little extra at Best Buy.

Right now they have it for $799 before $100 rebate.

Anybody order a Samsung 191t from Dell and/or Newegg.com?
Wonder where they were made? Should say on the side of the box.

I have 17" LCDs. All of them NEC's.

I used to have 1700v's, now I have 1760v's and 1760nx's. I don't see the need for 19" w/ same resolution.

I have not had a dead pixel, and they perform very well.

I suggest you read some reviews on the 1760's.

Also says it on the label on back of the monitor, if you tossed your boxes.

just received e-mail from newegg on my question.
They get there lcd's from various sources and cant say where they are made.
Looks like if you want one from Korea Best Buy the best option though will cost more $$$.
