A Transportation Security Administration agent was shot and several other people were wounded when a gunman opened fire in a Los Angeles International Airport terminal Friday morning.

I'm surprised LAX isn't a "gun free zone".

All in all it sounds like 1 TSA agent dead, and 6 people injured including the shooter and another TSA agent.

As it goes pretty much the best case scenario for one of these things, now we get to hear wall to wall coverage for the entire weekend as if all other news stopped, and all the libturbs talking about renewing the ban on assault weapons, as the same media who questions the guys motive gives him all the fame he ever desired.

Another thing about this shooting, now that the media has figured out he targeted TSA agents, the problem will not be the oppressive force the TSA has put on all american travelers finally caused someone to snap, theREAL problem will be the conservatives, and libertarians for calling out the ridiculous behaviour of the TSA.

Aren't many if most most "assault weapons" already banned in CA?
Aren't firearms already off limits at LAX?

Hey, maybe a double super duper ban is in order. Yeah, that should do it.

There are likely to be more and more of these.
Obamacare is bound to cause a few as well.

I saw on the news the dead TSA agent's job was noticing unusual behavior.
Apparently he didn't notice the shooter.

So while the government tells him to harass grandmas and grandpas in a wheel chair, with equal scrutiny, it appears he failed his one and only live test, tragic, but not really shocking.

So lets summarize.

We got a potentially mentally ill man. Free to move about as he wishes.
Carrying a weapon banned in that state, in the gun free zone of a major airport, who was overlooked by a TSA agent specifically trained to spot him. (who is now dead because of it)

Isn't about time our resident pro big government/more gun regulations loons chime in here about how we need even more of the same?

Nearly all of these shootings involve someone who is mentally ill.

What is the proper steps for the U.S. to take in order to stop these situations?
