A new variant of COVID-19, which the World Health Organization (WHO) says could have the ability to evade the immunity people get from vaccines and previous infections, has been detected in almost every US state, according to data from epidemiology and genomic database Outbreak.info.

May evade natural immunity also. This is my fear, covid vaccine will become about as effective as the flu vaccine, and it's just not going to go anywhere ever. I am compromised (spleen), I'm fairly sure this is how I will go out as I am only willing to live like a hermit for so long. I really thought it was over a few months ago but I think we are only at the beginning. Pretty depressing.

Been avoiding crowds now forever it seems, even business travel it’s drive-thru, curbside, take it back to the hotel. If someone is sick, don’t want to be within 50 feet of them wondering why they are out in public......

Personally don’t see an end to this.

Find a small group where everyone knows and trusts the others to be diligent with their health. The group can social distance and isolate when needed but you still have some buds to interact with.

Naturally you have a problem with stadiums full of vaccinated fans seeing sporting events and concerts. Well you can stay locked up in your basement with the rest of the unvaccinated plague rats.
