I see. The "experts" including Emperor Fauci said that no vaccine had ever been developed in less than five years so 4-8 would be the expected time required.
Then because Trump led an effort that resulted in 2-3 being developed within 8 MONTHS, you frame this as something that should be expected and Americans should in fact be embarassed.

You are not on point at all. I am asking what's so special when half of the top economies already have their vaccine? Two decades ago Americans only congratulated themselves for an A+. Now, utter failure and mismanagement need to be celebrated? Until now nothing came out of any American pharmaceutical, not even Pfizer (that vaccine was single-handedly developed in Germany by Turkish immigrants, mind you).

It's my understanding that Moderna's vaccine hasn't been approved yet, but approval was recommended by the advisory committee overseeing it. Full approval and emergency use authorization from the FDA could happen within 24 hours though.
