Home detention ordered for Bernie Madoff AND his wife must surrender her US passport as well.
An interesting "twist".

Just announced this morning around 10:30AM EST.
 
Why is he not sitting in jail? Mark Dreier is accused of far less and he has no bail currently. The system is so inconsistent even in the same district. Both of them should be held until trial as both have substantial charges and a lot of unaccounted for money.
 
The thief's running our system are giving him
a chance to slip away.
