Latency is dead. And so is High Frequency Trading.

As far as i understand it, this only helps for security (quantum cryptography). The quantum entanglement might be instant, but the information payload itself will still have to travel over the wire as per usual (or what ever medium u have), and this will always be limited by the speed of light. So, latency is not dead yet.

My thought also. The article is communication without wires using wires - HUH?

One key use will IMO ultimately be disallowed by the NSA. Sending secure information can determine if it has been tampered with or not on route.

Scary stuff. Probably some already using that. Einstein stuff says it is possible.

Einstein didn't believe in entanglement - spooky action at a distance!

Time travel is possible one direction but not the other according to my understanding of relativity. Are you aware of any articles describing travel to the past? If not, how could they already be using that? Just saying!

Getco (sp?) published their financials which included some documentation of PnL when they got into the Knight deal. I do not have a link right now, but do research it. A real eye opener on the lives of HFT firms, especially larger ones with large offices and payroll ($$$). Their y/y PnL was a tiny fraction, if I recall correctly, but don't rely on my memory or hearsay. Do check it out.
