last trading day of yr NASDAQ down ?

I had heard from the stock traders almanac that
the nasdaq was always up on this last trading day of the year

however ... it seems to me that the most recent 3 yrs have
been down days for the QQQ's ... ( nas 100)

anyone else care to comment or confirm this using their software's database ?

Unfortunately, 30 observations(years) is too small of a sample size to draw any conclusions from.

However, it is an interesting idea.
