Michigan State Police on Monday refused to allow a group of self-proclaimed Republican electors to enter the state’s Capitol.
Video of the confrontation was captured by photojournalist Brendan Gutenschwager.
“Per the governor’s office, per the Speaker of the House, per the Speaker of the Senate, the Capitol is closed unless you have an office here to conduct business today or you are taking part in the Electoral College process,” an officer explains to the GOP activists.
“We’re electors!” someone in the group exclaims.
“The electors are already here,” the officer replies. “They’ve been checked in.”
“Not all of them,” the group complains.
“The Capitol is closed,” the officer announces, pointing out that “all 16 electors” are already in the building.
“But the GOP electors!” a man protests.
Earlier on Monday, White House adviser Stephen Miller said that Republicans would name a group of “alternate” electors to cast their votes for President Donald Trump in an effort to keep his re-election hopes alive.
The Electoral College, however, is expected to officially vote for President-elect Joe Biden on Monday.

Rampant FRAUD in this election makes it perhaps the 3rd most significant political event in American history... behind the Revolutionary War and the Civil War.
Those who could do the most to rectify the situation... SCOTUS.... turned out to be GUTLESS BASTARDS... refusing to hear the case even though the evidence is overwhelming! (Shame on them!)
The last hope for the Republic... our one last chance to right a GREAT WRONG... is the conscience of Electors who will cast their vote today. In the last EC vote, there were a few "faithless electors" who voted against the popular vote in their state... a few in Trump's case and a few in Hellary's.
If America is to be saved from the "dictatorial tyranny of the Left", at least temporarily.... it will be up to the electors' conscience*.
God help us all.
*None of the electors from "Biden states" would need to instead cast their vote for Trump... all they'd need to do is abstain so that Biden wouldn't be awarded 270 EC votes. That would put "other" Constitutional procedures in play. Doubt it will happen, but appears to be the last hope of a defeated and dying America.
I find it especially interesting that the Genius Founders gave us the Electoral College so that (1) a few high-population states couldn't de-facto determine national policy for us all and (2) electors were not necessarily bound by the popular vote in their state... so that the good will and conscience of a few patriotic men would have the opportunity to put a stop to any great political wrong.
It's bad enough that America is going "Full Commie Socialist"... even worse if we've been cheated into it!
You can disagree with sCOTUS, but the electors aren't faithless if they are carrying out their duty to cast votes for the populace that confirmed their vote.
