Larry Williams

If he really made 10,000% in one year. It sounds like he won the trading lottery by catching an outlier year while taking biggish bets.

He then decided to make $1 Million+ per trading as a sure thing, by selling books and seminars.

Sounds sensible to me. If i had a talent for selling systems seminars as well as trading, i would do both.
Okay, and even if taken at face, should wannabe traders be buying his books and paying thousands for his seminars?

But don't forget the cloud under which he won that contest.

I would say his books are worth the money (just $50, although it maybe more these days). I have found if a trading book has even 1 good idea inside that can integrate into your trading in some way, even a very small way, it might lead to doing some research in some new direction where you find some new ideas, it is normally worth $50.

I doubt his seminars are worth that much. But who's seminars are?? But some people just want to drop that much money on seminars for some reason..

Sure, I agree with that. To be fair, I never bought any of Williams's books, but from what I have read about his books, courses and seminars at some length, and what Gallacher wrote about what he teaches in his books and so on, is that he offers mostly generic fare, and some unique insights of dubious statistical value. This on top of nonsense about the moon and so on, during his association with Welles Wilder years earlier. (Hey, whatever sells, right?)

Did you actually get anything workable and reliable over time from any of his material that was not available elsewhere either for free or for much less cost? If so, I don't need to know what it is, just that you go something that you would otherwise not have come across pretty much anywhere else, or on your own by just following the markets.

If he is not selling seminars anymore, (he is pushing 80) why are we discussing what happened in the last century?

Anybody has info about Darvas' seminars??? How about Livermore's?
