Something of little or no real value that is well marketed to trick the gullible and desperate into handing over money.

Very common in the trading 'education' world.

Named after the Snake oil medicinal products that were sold in the 1800s by scammers and conmen.

Ah. Got it. I think if you can learn 1 or 2 new ideas it is worth $50-$100. Definitely not $2k.

That's sadly a retail trader myth. Learn a few ideas from this vendor, and a few more from that one. Spend hours on ET and other forums so you can pick up a few more gems among all the noise. Before long, you assemble all of it into an amazing trading system. Sounds good but I've never seen it work...

I think it is worth about $50. All quant stuff. Maybe you can get a few ideas if you are managing a hedge fund, but I don't think it benefits retail traders much as it just gave you a lot of backtest results which may have been obsolete without further testing. Don't waste your time and money.
