are you refering to the MOC on NYSE? MOC orders get matched 1-2mins after 16:00EST

I had a NEM print of 288 300 shares on a 49.80 stock...1.44million bucks....and it happened 2 mins aftermarket today....guy must have soiled his briches right before that went down...

It was once explained like this to me.

Sometimes a heavy hitter falls asleep after a big lunch. The closing bell wakes him up, and since he's a heavy hitter, he hits heavy.

He runs up to the spec at about 4:01 and does his business, which then prints.
