China rips into 2008 olympics.... and falls right after

all i hear about is 2008..2008....its a 1 month party...big deal...doesnt sustain long term growth

also..its not like China is unknown...."this will bring china to the forefront"....please...they already dominate,,,,once they sell our bonds...they'll dominate even more

Short China during the olympics (at least for a short term trade)

this is very typical of chinese/asian and immigrant workers.

their outlook on life is to support the elders , support the family , save money etc etc.

in terms of ploughing money into the economy by spending and enjoying the money it simply is not gonna happen. hence the main flaw in the shopping mall project.

i see the same thing in the philippines when i go there with the wife. fantastic shopping malls full of western goods and expensive local goods but everybody shuffling around just looking.

the only place that is busy is the toilet and the cheapest restaurant.

they only go there for the aircon to be honest.

Maybe if you look at Singapore, predominantly Chinese, and its development and change in attitudes and spending you might reconsider.

That's hilarious. Yeah, having a trade surplus is terrible. Gotta have a huge deficit like the US and Make sure all the citizens are in debt up to their eyeballs. that way, there won't be any "trade frictions".
