Had the drug had been used to treat patients in the UK from the start of the pandemic, up to 5,000 lives could have been saved, researchers say.

I don’t take it because I don’t need it. I’m not sick or vulnerable. I’ve been at the lake for months and getting tons o sun and exercise and fresh fruit, veg, fish...offices closed so why be anywhere else?I know what it cost when I bought it (Sanofi) before Trump started going on about it.

I'm not really American remember? Technically, but my world view is vastly greater. I also have over 25 years of hospice involvement. I watch HCL like a hawk along with half dozen other drugs/therapies.
The reality as best I see it is steroids and antibiotics work and HCL has some nice anti-inflammatory properties but.. The QT problem means this is mostly an issue to avoid. I do take it myself for my knee.
It is bad for seriously ill weak/old people on average.
Its real purpose is to act as a placebo prophylactic for trumpets who would never have become seriously ill anyway. I know the faith healer and witch doctor racket far to well not to see the real deal.
I will change my mind immediately when evidence presents however if one of mine was ill right now would use other treatments.

You can't read. I said 60 bucks for a pack of 20 (200mg) manufactured/branded by Sanofi. Not generic bulk. When I bought these Colombia months back I compared the price to the US.
Sanofi (name brand) is what was available, generics are cheaper but near all lupus people take Sanofi. Generics of normal chloroquinine are just 3 cents a pill retail. I have experience enough with generic drugs to know to be wary of quality and authenticity.
Since then genius the market has been flooded with pills.
