Im a proud catholic and church was cancelled by me. We also dont continue to have large gathers and weddings and use religion as an excuse. We also shower daily by the way.
Why are you comparing going to costco for necessities to a bunch of selfish people having large gatherings and thinking the rules dont apply to them? Thats apple and oranges.
Toilet paper isn't a necessity. 75% of the world doesn't use toilet paper.
It's good you don't go out to large gatherings. I don't either. If I have to go out, I use gloves and a mask. I think at this point, it's best people do stay home as much as possible, but that's my personal opinion and it's based on what evidence I've been given. But I'm not going to use that as an excuse to jail people who don't agree with me because if I take someones freedom away when it suits me, what will happen when someone wants to take my freedom when it suits them?
Like what if society said being a catholic leads to hell and you can no longer be a catholic. You now have to be mormon to save your soul. After all, we're just trying to save people from going to hell. Souls are at stake! So now we have to jail you if you continue to be catholic.
You would probably have a pretty strong opinion about that, I think and would rather people just left you alone to your worship and not worry about you, but they're going to say your affecting other people with your religion...
Just like they're doing with the virus. That's why freedom is the most important thing.
The first 3 words God spoke to Adam were "You are free..."[to eat from any tree in the garden].
Very important is that word. He didn't say "you are allowed" He didn't say "you may..." The word free was very specific and deliberate. God wanted to make sure we had freedom...even if it lead to death.
