Our whole system is based on the wisdom of ordinary citizens. From elections to the jury system, we trust in the collective wisdom of the ordinary over the ivory tower insights of the elite. Of course, the Founders never envisioned such a system and would be rightly appalled by it. They limited voting to land-owning men and senators were selected by state legislatures. They fully appreciated the dangers of pure democracy and tried to set up a framework to avoid it.
We are stuck with the current system however, for better or worse. Give the average voter some credit however. All across the country they saw through the lies and media propaganda behind the Clinton campaign. Now they have the satisfaction of seeing their judgment vindicated as Hillary makes yet another sour grapes tour and appears increasingly disconnected from Realsville. We narrowly avoided a presidency overseen by the likes of Mrs. Anthony Weiner aka Huma Abedin and creepy Podesta and his pals.
It is beyond ironic that the billionaire jerk forged a connection with ordinary voters, who sensed his innate decency, and rejected Hillary and her 30 years of lying demagoguery.
