Aug. 24 (UPI) -- There were fewer than 35,000 new cases of COVID-19 in the United States on Sunday, according to data Monday from researchers at Johns Hopkins University -- the lowest number in two months.

The university's Center for Systems Science and Engineering showed about 34,500 cases, nationally. That's the fewest number of new cases since 30,500 on June 22.
The U.S. average over the previous six days was 44,000. There were about 450 coronavirus deaths on Sunday, the lowest figure in a week.

Florida’s COVID-19 infection rate dips to low level not seen since mid-June

For the first time in over two months, the daily rate of positive COVID-19 test results for new cases in Florida dipped below 5% on Saturday — a sign of reduced spread of the coronavirus.

Don't put the dem campaign into a panic.

Pretty funny yesterday. I watched Biden's campaign manager doing some serious squirming when some woke reporters had her on the run because it turns out that neither Biden nor Harris have ever been tested, even though all the lefty networks spend most of their time mask-shaming republicans and the president, yet you have to be tested to just get into the white house.

Then sprize, sprize, the campaign manager announces today that biden and harris will now be regularly tested.

Go figure.

Despite DeSantis, Nearly One-Third Of Florida Counties Require Masks

With Florida primed to reach 400,000 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, almost one-third of counties in Florida have introduced mandatory face mask policies, despite the fact the Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis refuses to implement a statewide mandate.

KEY FACTS
19 counties in Florida have instituted some type of mandatory mask regulation, out of a total of 67 counties in the state; many municipalities have enacted their own mandates as well.

Miami-Dade county, a virus hot-spot in Florida and the fourth highest ranked county in the U.S. in terms of infection rates in the U.S., has toughened its penalties for breaking public health protocol — offenders can face up to a $500 fine or risk being arrested.

Broward county issued an emergency order on July 10 requiring people to wear face masks when visiting essential businesses and when inside common areas of their homes.

Many counties, especially in South Florida, have imposed curfews in addition to mandating masks and are cracking down on social gatherings in an effort to curb the spread of the virus.

Don’t Argue With Anti-Mask Shoppers, CDC Guides Retail Employees

if a shopper appears upset when asked to mask up or told about the in-store limit on toilet paper, don’t attempt to make them follow the policy, the CDC says.

That advice mirrors what the world’s biggest retailer, Walmart Inc., told its own workers in July: Stay calm and show understanding, but if customers insist on walking in without a mask, just get out of the way.

Why the hell would he get tested? Come on Man!

Once again, numbers show that the Kung Flu is dissipating at warp speed. Soon, Idiot Dems will have to come up with another October Surprise.

Finally, we have some more good sense coming into play!! This is good news in my view!

Trump’s New Coronavirus Adviser Wants to Copy Disastrous Sweden Approach
https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2020/08/trumps-new-coronavirus-adviser-preaches-herd-immunity.html

The president’s new, trusted adviser on the pandemic is Scott Atlas, a senior fellow at Stanford’s conservative Hoover Institution who endorses a Sweden-style approach for America that would protect specific vulnerable populations, like those in nursing homes, while largely allowing the coronavirus to spread unchecked through other sectors of society. And his philosophy may at least partially explain several shifts in federal policy over the last few weeks.

So you want a response that kills 10X more people per capita than your neighbors and a economic downside that is worse than your direct neighbors --- all due to idiotic public health policy.
