Security was tight inside and out of the auditorium.

“I did not want to be here,” Suzuki told the audience. “I do not believe that we should dignify this man and his ideas in public debate.” A few minutes later, he added, “There will always be Rushtons in the world. We must be prepared to root them out.”

It appears that everyone forgets that there were other invasive vegetation that spread from the South to the North during the 1900 to 1950 period. Of course they all died off in the North during the 'drastic' global cooling of the 1970s.
