Quote from nitro:

Fifty brave souls working to contain the fires at those reactors. Geesys may God be on their side. But wait, according to Ayn Rand these people are impossible. What an idiot she is.

And from which of her books did you draw such a conclusion? I think I missed that one.

I really don't want to ruin this thread more than it has already been ruined.

born in russia in 1906, judging, take it with a grain of salt, she grew up in a tough communist, underprivileged european country, and maybe her whole life was sacrifice ,in her eyes, for naught, trying to undestand her definition of altruism

That is fine, read all the Ayn Rand you want. But if you stop there, and then form your philosophical foundation on her ideas and ignore western and eastern thought, well, do I really need to go on?

Wittgenstein got away without knowing much about philosophy and yet was still able to be a great philosopher because he was Wittgenstein. The rest of us have to put in the work.

If you want to be a leader in this world, and not some hedonist, you must study moral philosophy.
