Kudos to MMs

NFV 1100.40. SPX 1,116.77.

NFV has made a monster move higher, in fact this is unprecedented. Edge is about 16, therefore we are forced to exit on the 50->35, the 35->24. We exit the entries at 1121.75 for +5 and 1107 for a loss of -9. So we lock in a loss of -4. We are still holding the 24 units and the 14 units at a loss.

This is almost the worst case scenario, NFV moving towards SPX after lots of adds. It could be worse, SPX could be going higher and we have NFV converging towards it after many adds...

Sorry for being a sour loser, but I think someone leaked the BoJ move and market participants acted on it, illegally. Seriously, the SEC, CFTC etc should look at the tape, look at the books to see who added long positions aggressively, and put those firms on a watch list.

Are you saying that the SEC, CFTC, etc. should look at the interbank books for the FX market?

There were posts on Forex Live (here, here, and here) noting intervention rumors before BoJ jumped in yesterday, and I think a lot of UJ traders felt it was only a matter of time. I wouldn't be surprised that a lot of bigger players were ready to get long at the drop of a hat (or rumor).

You don't think that having preeminent information on a currency action on the worlds third largest economy should be on the regulators watch list?

No offense, unless I misunderstand the links, those links all have todays date on them. I am talking a week or two ago "they" had inside information that it was "imminent".

I see what you're saying now. I was mistakenly under the impression that you thought people had gotten the intervention news, say, an hour early.

On a related note, does NFV use UJ or a derivative as a factor in its calculation? I remember you asking about currency intervention data in months past...

NFV will weight heavily any action like the one taken today to a world leading economy. It would do the same if some action in China or Germany took place.

As timing goes, it was an excellent exit, right at the LOD (including the AH action too), if you did it right before the post...

I still think we are going lower from here, so exiting the rest would be a mistake, but you just stick to the rules...

Just made a nice spread from the bacon strips. A bit of chipotle mayo, lettuce, tomatoes on wheat toast. If SPX goes over 1130, I'm going to chow down and get it over with.
