Is it my imagination, or are these funds far more accurate in their buying?
These auctions no longer mean free money anymore just by anticipating them and going long blindly.
If trading and investing isn't symmetric instead of the asymmetry we have had for months, it hurts everyone, imo.

Odds that buying will continue today? 85 delta. Odds that buying will continue tomorrow? 80 delta. Friday we may get a small pullback, but doubt it.
If you have been navigating short and breaking even, congratulations for walking a mine field and not coming out with your head removed from your shoulders. If you are short, the late morning on are the most dangerous times. The very early morning can be navigated short with skill.
Keep the patience and resist the urge to short. The market will become more symmetric sometime next month. We will all have a better feel for it soon.

People are buying vola on the cheap is my guess. Symmetric risk is coming to the market soon, and vola probably isn't going to 10. So it was likely a good R:R trade in their eyes.
If it were me, I might have waited until later in the day because this will likely lift again towards the close and VIX will be stressed again, but I suspect these people aren't interested in the exact bottom or top.
