Arbitrary. Rarely, I will move it to the next area of support/resistance. It's uncanny how often an arbitrary 5pt target is right at those levels anyways.
I'm trying to keep detailed records as there is always room for improvement, so if anyone has any suggestions, I am all open.
Currently I am trying to measure my average profit potential so I can set a more mathematical (probable) target than just 5pt.
