Krugman:Euro could collapse in a few days time

Quote from Martinghoul:

Yep, I am in tune, for my sins...

I have said a few times that I have become increasingly skeptical. To be honest, at this point, I don't know what to think any more. The situation is so messed up that anything can happen. All I can tell you is that I strongly believe that the odds of a "Eurozone collapse" sort of outcome have increased dramatically as a result of a whole variety of recent shocks.

I do think Macro Man sums it up best here: http://macro-man.blogspot.com/2011/09/how-europe-sees-itself.html

This is what I have been saying all along.

Euro to collapse in a few days? About fucking time. Too bad Krugman is probably wrong.

My guess is it will all pass over through bailouts until 2014 when the maturity dates hit. Then the swhtf.

England however is on the brink of an immediate crisis. I think there will be big riots and striking by the end of the year.

Why was the euro even created? It makes no sense.
The Euro was created first and foremost to foster peace in Europe through increased economic integration.

Are you just comparing the Q1-2011 numbers?

Please don't analyse my one liners, Martin...:)

But seriously....

The Euro sceptics are having a field day obviously these days but it's easy at this point on the curve to come out and say it was doomed all along.

It's just not that simple.

As if without the Euro Greece and Portugal today would be booming....

Maybe with the Lire and the Peseta Italy and Spain would have fallen already and tens of milions of peoples savings would have been wiped out....

Nobody knows.... It has it's flaws and its plusses but one thing I know for sure is when it does collapses Krugman would be the last to predict it timely.
