kospi commission can seem high, but only if one is in the red. IB commission is about 1/3 of a tick. If someone trades ES without large volume, the commission when compared to a tick value is only marginally lower than 1/3 of a tick, it is some where is $3.5 - 3.8 region.

One of my favorites thing about this contract is that even when it moves fast, there is time to make a decision about the trade. I used to trade DAX, and in that market if volatily picks up between the spread and speed, I was not able to trade at all. During Socgen disaster, it was untradeble at all, for example.

KOSPI offers ability to trade decent size at 1 tick spread, just like ES. If someone wants to try day trading futures without quitting their day job, this is the best one to try.
 
Yes, I did as exactly you showed but I only get daily or larger timeframe charts. I get intraday quotes from IB during the mkt hours but when I try to follow with an intraday chart i just get a blank chart.

any idea? TIA.

Never mind. I'll be using Quotetracker to track Kospi futures. Apparently, you just type the symbol in the following format: "KSE:@KSU0"

This is realy nice thread. Thank you for your contributions.
I have been looking at the KOSPI for about a week now. This looks like a 30 year US Bond Futures 3-4 years ago on a non-trending day. Very thick, which is nice. But it's not trending and the moves are so tiny !!!! Let's say my stop is 4 ticks, then my profit should be 12 ticks. Hard to find 12 tick moves.....

Another thing, how to calculate fibonacci levels on this contract? Taking in consideration Chicago contract + Korea for yesterday ranges? I've tried with a single contract, with both contracts.... the fibs just don't line up to where the market stops...

Let's just forget the fibs for the second.... I've learned to trade at the pits of CBOT. The pit traders are very simple people, they don't complicate matters with fibs, moving everages... etc.... :)))

And sometimes I just day trade like them.... check where the market stops, where the market opens and where the trend is...

But even this simple technique - I can not apply to Kospi..... It just a whipsaw, blows out the stops, no trend...

I can not increase the stops my risk management does not allow me to......

Any thoughts on how to trade this? I hate to give up this contract.....
