Knockout "Game" Not New, Media Cover Up Not Either

Quote from bigarrow:

I agree and if I lived in one of those places I would consider carrying. When I worked in Phoenix I started carrying a quick flip pocket knife because some of the areas there had some shady characters walking around.

This is the strange thing, however. Most, if not all, of these occurrences continue to happen in municipalities where CCW permits are either illegal or exceptionally difficult to obtain. Why do you suppose that is?

No one is playing the knockout game in Texas. Or Florida. Or Georgia. Are they?

They better get the first shot in good with me or there gonna be some cut up thugs in the alley. But I'm not the type of guy that gets picked on and the thing about bullies and thugs they're good at picking victims. But I don't know if the CCW law is a factor or not. I can't imagine this happening in Texas very often. And not just because of the CCW laws, there are too many people here who would step up and help the victims.

Tao we're in agreement on this one.

I know. I just thought it was timely that the video on that was just posted to a blog I watch.

Interviews with convicts and studies show that it IS a factor.

You're right it probably would make a difference especially if several of the thugs were shot in a week and was plastered all over the news for a month so everyone in the hood would know about it.

Quote from jem:

If more people were armed... it would seriously raise the stakes...
the knock out game would be risking the empty clip game. from the victim and bystanders. Everybody would be filming everything.

+1
These inner city thugs are dumb, but not dumb enough to knowingly pick on someone who's likely armed. They'll simply go elsewhere. i.e., look at Chicago or DC, where the toughest gun laws around make protecting oneself very difficult.

Btw, I give credit where credit's due. You made a common sense post today.
