During the period when Bush was alienating the rest of the world (including America where his approval numbers dropped below 33%) the klannish essentially said:

"Who cares what the rest of the world thinks."

So someone else pays more to the corrupt IOC to get the Olympics, and suddenly it matters what the "world" thinks?
