Seriously, I agree that it is bluster but they did shell a populated island in the South a couple years ago. And they attacked a submarine in international waters. Something like that could spark a response and the war is on.
I don't know if it would last days or just hours but the risk is that the Chinese would come to their defense again.
His talk is dangerous and something could easily flair up by design or mistake.
They don't need a missile. Nuclear artillery is old technology. Plenty of people had them and wouldn't be that hard to get from the Russian underground, or even have one built.

We should have had our troops out of South Korea decades ago. South Korea is no longer an impoverished emerging country. It is a full-fledged industrial power. Our troop presence there is very unpopular among the Koreans.
It's time for them to take out their own garbage.
Unfortunately, we can't do anything now, not after these threats. We can't pull our troops without appearing to be folding to blackmail. We can't attack North Korea because the South would be totally opposed. They prefer we just sit here and see if he's bluffing. Win-win for them.
