Isn't that all you need? Isn't that enough for anyone? Make a boatload during a cycle and retire.

Take a bit of the rest and treat it as play money. Besides, the guy is not a trader, he's a VC and investor.

Who the hell cares if you make a shitload in one boom-bust cycle and never enter again. That is success! I do not recall him ever saying he was going for the record of world's best trader.

It is his Shtick. It's like Howard Stern saying all the time that he is "King of all media". It is a very mature adult meme that takes a sophisticated mind to understand thoroughly. It is not meant to be taken seriously.
