Quote from Turok:

"It can easily be argued that only members of an organized "militia" (let's say National Guard) have the right to personal arms. I know reasonable people who make this argument. I reject the argument because when you consider the reason they wanted the populace to have access to arms it was to be able to resist an overbearing government. Of course if the only people allowed to bear arms were those in government sponsored militias, then what's the point?"

Agree

To me its clear (sorta like... well duh) because I've taken the time to read, while others who argue the point usually haven't bothered. At least that has been my experience. Its like they don't realize the freedoms they enjoy is because of the Constitution, and as such are far to eager to change it. There are those of us who realize how delicate the balance is.

To determine someone as being reasonable my first inclination would be to discover their level of understanding and second, what agenda do they have. To say I have little tolerance for idiots would be pretty accurate. Personal fault perhaps. Before condemning though, I first strive to teach.

Some people spend so much of their time in condescension, unfounded assumption and hubris filled comments that even very simple argument escape them.

I know many who have taken the time to not only read, but study and they still come to vastly differing conclusions regarding the right to bear arms.

It's been a nice exchange Cd, but I'm still waiting for AAA to provide even the slightest smudge on ART's logic. AAA???
