I think I may have mentioned this to you before but I help out at a local church on monday nights where we a "career workshop". It's designed to help people with resumes, teach interviewing skills etc.

It is a small group, maybe only 30-40 people show up each week but almost to a person they are all on unemployment so when I suggest that they register with a temp agency and just get going doing something they point out they would make more on unemployment.

They have a point too. I don't know what the answer is really.
