kentucky is broke and they give 43mil in subsidies to build noahs ark

Quote from Stox 69:

So then by your own admission, the majority of your life you were brainwashed into believing in the bible. But now you think everyone who believes in the bible is "retarded" does that mean you spent the majority of your life as a "retard?"

It would seem fairly hypocritical, in my point of view, to claim that you were brainwashed but everyone else is retarded. Unless of course you fancy yourself as some sort of Uber genius, who is simply smarter than everyone else.
i dont think believers are retarded. they are willfully deluded. i have only used the word retarded once that i can remember in this thread about piel. with him its open to debate.

"kentucky is broke and they give 43mil in subsidies to build noahs ark"

Our federal government is broke too and look at the stupid shit they're still throwing billions at.

The nice thing about our freedom is that if you don't like what a particular state is doing you can move to another state. Of course if you don't like what your federal government is doing its a little more complicated moving to another country.

(and NO I don't think spending on theme park of any kind is wise if you're broke)

by the way it the post stated these are tax incentives.
Without reading the article do you all understand?

The govt is not paying for it.
Most likely they are providing incentives to create jobs.

Christianity is the leading cause of poverty in america.

ALL religious organizations are subsidized by the government. They're tax exempt entities. And individuals get tax breaks by contributing to them.

The $40M in tax breaks you refer to is nothing compared to the BILLIONS of dollars in tax breaks that all religious organizations and their contributors get every year.

Quote from Free Thinker:

wtf. kentucky cant fix roads or pay teachers and they spend taxpayer money on a religions theme park:

Americans United for Separation of Church and State today blasted officials in Kentucky for their decision to award more than $40 million in tax incentives to a theme park centered around Noah’s Ark.

A fundamentalist Christian group sought the aid to erect a so-called “Ark Park” in Williamstown. Gov. Steve Beshear backed the scheme, saying it would bring jobs to the state.

Americans United says that’s not a good enough reason for the state to promote a religious enterprise like the Ark Park, which is being constructed in conjunction with evangelist Ken Hamm’s Answers in Genesis ministry.

“The state of Kentucky should not be promoting the spread of fundamentalist Christianity or any other religious viewpoint,” said the Rev. Barry W. Lynn, executive director of Americans United. “Let these folks build their fundamentalist Disneyland without government help.”
