That Kavanaugh is a liar. We must have Justices whose Honesty and Integrity can not be challenged. His is in tatters. I am not OK with his having sexually assaulted young women when he was a drunken young student, but were he honest and apologetic I could forgive that and let it go, because it was so long ago, and he certainly is not the same person he was then. Whether he was a liar 30+ years ago is beside the point. He is a liar today, Wed. Sept 26, 2018, and that is what matters. Therefore he is wholly unsuitable as a Supreme Court Justice. The committee's highest duty is not to be fair to Kavanaugh but to do what ever they can to make sure they do not elevate a liar to the Supreme Court. It makes no difference that he hasn't been tried and found guilty by a court of law. He is guilty in the eyes of the public, and that is the only standard that should, or need apply here.
McConnell warned Trump that Kavanaugh would be difficult to get confirmed. Trump choose him because of his views on presidential power. Trump thought it might help to have an ally on the Supreme Court in his battle to remain in office. Trump is driven by his narcissism not his intellect. Kavanaugh should not have accepted, knowing he would be subjected to intense scrutiny, but he is an opportunist driven by insatiable ambition. He could not help himself. Both mean's flaws may get the best of them yet.
I do expect Kavanaugh to be confirmed. I have no confidence in the Republican wing of the Congress. There is a small cadre of wrong headed Republicans leading the establishment Republicans over a cliff. The old-timers of the Party should know how to stand against a mob, but won't. They will push the nomination through and defile the Court's reputation. Thankfully for the rest of us, this is only one chapter in a long history.
And what exactly are you claiming that Kavanaugh is lying about.
I find the accusers to be less than truthful -- pushing evidence-free assertions.
This political smear campaign is a travesty and demeans our democratic process.
I hope the Democrats understand that they have now established a new standard of evidence-free sexual smears that will be used against all of their future appointees at the federal and state level for decades in the future.
There is no actual evidence or proof, there is no "pattern of behavior." There are some allegations, that is all.

While investigators weren’t specific and spoke on background, they said they are looking at allegations made against Kavanaugh during his senior year in high school after an anonymous witness voluntarily came forward to speak with them this weekend.”

There is a pattern here. And the pattern continued into college. What is the likelihood that all these women, who don't know each other, are all lying? Kavanaugh is lying about not assaulting the Ford women. Conceivably he did this so regularly, that he lost track of which women he had assaulted. His recall later may have been dimmed by heavy drinking. It's come out that his behavior related by Ford is part of a pattern that he repeated at other parties. The latest allegation is from 1998. He was in his thirties. It is turning out that he has had a drinking problem. Does he have it now. Who knows? I assume the Republican leadership will ram this through anyway. It is a horrible mistake.
I just learned of a law suit filed seeking to force the release of Kavanaughs records from his time in the G.W. Bush White House. But the release would not be in time to affect the current hearing.
