The interesting part of this story to me is the North Carolina connection

I remember this resignation being minor political news in our state at the time.

I assumed it was a relatively small personnel matter. If it was in the media enough for you to hear, how does he get this job?

They knew but did not care one can only imagine? He has quite a pair to put himself to the front in circumstances like this.

From memory, at the time it was announced in the very back page of political sections that Ventry resigned due to embellishing his resume (nothing about sexual harassment AFAIK). I believe either the News & Observer or WRAL (Politics NC) mentioned it at the time. People who watch politics in our state were wondering what the real reason behind the resignation was since it seemed unusual. It was not a very big noticeable political story.... which probably is why he was easily able to get another job working on the staff of a different politician in D.C.
