These kids and their IPODs! I just recently returned to substitute teaching in the public school system after a hiatus. It seems this technology has caught on like wildfire since I've been gone. There is no overall school policy for dealing with them. It's up to the individual teacher. It's a nightmare. Every kid now has a personal computer (i.e an Ipod) in class with internet access. It's become quite common for kids to watch porn in class or to shock classmates with same.
I predict that cases like this are going to explode in the coming years. Technology has far out paced maturity and morality.
He will certainly be imprisoned for several decades, plus Sex offender registration, if he is going to be judged as an adult. In other words, he just ruined his life before it even began.

Katy teen to face child porn charges today

Kyle Boman, 17, goes to school at Morton Ranch High School, where officials say they found those images stored on his iPod. He is scheduled to appear on two counts of possession of child pornography.
Katy ISD says it received a tip through the district's Safety Net program.
"Most of the guys thought he was an okay guy to hang out with, but the girls, they thought he was creepy," Morton Ranch High School student Jordan Morris said of Boman, who he was once friends with.
Morris says he was surprised to learn that his classmate Boman was facing charges.
"To think he did it and he was once my friend," Morris said.
Investigators say more than 3,100 images, including inappropriate nude pictures of juvenile females and other female classmates, were found on an iPod.
Morris says he reported Boman to a school counselor after he allegedly approached his girlfriend, Shelby, who used to attend the same school.
"He asked my girlfriend over the break, on New Year's Eve, if he could have pictures of her naked," Morris said.
"He asked me if he could send a video of himself and I told him no," Shelby told ABC 13 Eyewitness News.
Shelby says the recent alleged proposition made her very uncomfortable.
"Then he asked me if I could send him a nude photo of me and I said no because I respect myself," Shelby said. "What I'm hoping is that he will learn from this experience that he has gone through and will actually get help."
If convicted, Boman could face up to 20 years in prison.
