I will be the first to celebrate an effective coronavirus vaccine...
So you are saying that you think the claims by Pfizer and Moderna about their vaccines being 90+% effective are flat out lies, or shoddy science?

I have wondered how the vaccine for the regular flu is only 40% effective and yet all of these covid virus vaccines are 90+% effective.
It is all a function of there sample characteristics. 90+% seems high.
Also the word "effective" is undefined.
It could be either. I don’t know. I just know I ain’t taking it...don’t need to.So you are saying that you think the claims by Pfizer and Moderna about their vaccines being 90+% effective are flat out lies, or shoddy science?
Nice diarrhea word salad. Try again!Flu vaccine is almost always a 50-50 mix of the last strain of flu at the end of the flu season in the northern hemisphere and the last strain of flu circulating at the end of the flu season in the southern hemisphere. If those viruses did not mutate and those vaccines were used their effectivity rate would be very high. Problem is, they do mutate so it is more or less a roll of the dice as to how effective last years vaccine will be for the next year. Covid is mutating less in the parts of the virus that are deadly, so far anyway, and is not subject to seasonality much so far anyway.
In regard to the word "effective" being undefined, yes, that is a problem.
It might be highly effective in getting you through a six month outbreak or a school year or travel period but ineffective for life long immunity without a booster. Still plenty effective for some purposes though.
It might not effectively prevent transmission but might be highly effective against developing a full case of covid. Or it might not be effective in preventing a case of covid but might provide enough immunity to drastically reduce the mortality rate. All different measures.
There are going to be plenty of people taking covid and saying "I got the shot and still got sick so it is not worth shiite.? But, they don't know. They assume that they were never at risk of dying so do not value the fact that the vaccine may have given them at least partial immunity such that they only got sick. The law of large numbers should show the correct picture. If you are vaccinating a large population or known clusters and it is results in a brighter picture then probably it is working. But if you are vaccinating the bejesus out of a population and the hospitalizations and deaths are not going down, well then, that would be the time to say that it is not worth shiite.
It could be either. I don’t know. I just know I ain’t taking it...don’t need to.
Heh, it makes me think she became Worf for a small while, in her bravery to take the shot...So so brave of her. lol
P.S. Yes, the pain stick ritual is what the rabies vaccine is like. Nurses gather on both sides of you and stick you at the same time, multiple times. Crazy! So people should not fear the one little pinprick they will receive for the COVID vaccine. Oi!
Ever hear of a disease called shingles? It just killed a dear relative of mine. She didn't know either, and never bothered with the vaccine. It cost her her life.
With this COVID thing, we DO know. Better to not throw caution to the wind.
Kamala becomes Wharf! This is my fav Star Trek series of them all.![]()
Damn...they zapped him in his nipples too. That's gotta hurt big time.
