Just who are the bad guys in the polygamy case?

I think they've f**k*d this one up from a legal standpoint if they can't even fine the "informant", BUT ...

Let's suppose there truly are 16yo girls there with as many as 4 kids. Let's suppose the DNA results show they are fathered by the older members.

Do you still say "harming no one"?

there are due process methodoligies to pursue these allegations. these methods do not employ gestapo tactics.
 
just like everything else.. follow the money. who benefits financially?

Agreed, but that answer doesn't address the question in any way.

I'm simply interested in whether AAA considers old guys getting young girls repeatedly pregnant 'harmlessly minding their own business'.

Of course not...but so far its allegations that defintely should be investigated.....but it looks like they kind of through out the baby with the bath water eh??? it may turn out that there was abuse....my queston is this and as a devout catholic i can bring it up:

how many priests and churches over the last 15 years were involved in SICKER claims...yet can yo recall a single 'raid" on a catholic church to save people or at the very least gather evidence?????
 
I think turok raises a valid point. Just because they were living on a compound, they are not above the law, anymore than a compound of muslims would be, although I seriously doubt a compound of muslims would have been raided like that.

My point is that these people were clearly not a threat to the public at large. It's not like they were kidnapping these girls off the streets. An investigation may well have been in order, but the gestapo tactics they used were out of bounds in my opinion and raise numerous constitutional issues. This could have easily turned into another Waco, and in fact may contribute to the next Waco because it will feed the paranoia of other separatist groups.

Again, not defending these particular tactics, but I'm not convinced there is much of a parallel. It's a matter of practicality -- here, if you can get a solid legal reason to get in and do the tests(and I'm not sure they have one), with DNA you can easily determine scores or perhaps hundreds of child sex felonies with one fell swoop. The raid isn't even time sensitive -- last week or next week won't change the dna results.

In the case of the Catholic Church (of which I'm no defender) most of the accusations were well after the fact -- there weren't any accusers that claimed "they're in there RIGHT NOW molesting kids", and thus nothing to "raid".
