Just who are the bad guys in the polygamy case?

Quote from AAAintheBeltway:

If the guy's wife wanted to stay with him, why did she go along with being "reassigned" to another guy? Why wouldn't she just leave the compound with him?

lol...thanks, AAA. It's a relief to finally realize that there's no point in discussing anything with you.

On Ignore.

Quote from trendlover:

I am not assuming the wife was "unwilling" as chuck ell thought I assumed.
I am assuming she went (willingly.) Why do I assume that, (and yes I know it is not good to assume, but since chuck ell assumed that I assumed she was unwilling,) :p than I have to say I assume she went (willingly) because she has been taught to obey the prophet. Why didn't she leave the compound? Becasue she also has been taught that outsiders are evil, and if she goes to the outside there will never be a place with god for her when she dies. So to leave is terrifying for her.
Her husband did not want his wife and children taken from him. I assume this becasue in the article he says he is "heartbroken" But the husband has also been taught the laws of god and to obey his prophet, so I will assume he was (willing) to let his wife and children be taken becasue he wants to obey the prophet like he has been taught, and he fears what might happen to him on the outside, and he will not make it to heaven. But he was heartbroken.

I want to say AAA that I think it is terrible that the children right now are most likely in culture shock and very much afraid. They have been taught too that the outside is a bad place. I don't agree at all about the mothers and children being seperated. I think it is thoughtless and heartless.

No I don't think for a minute that these people are inferior or unable to make a decision, What I think is when they do make a decision it will be based on what they know about the world they live in. Do you think they understand if they refuse to give up their son or daughter to a situation that is harmful to the son, or the daughter just doesn't want to be with a man, that they will not suffer the wrath of god? No, they feel it is gods command and they have to obey. But like chuck ell said, if someone tells them it is ok to not take the command of their prophet, than that is implying that one god is better than another.
What do you think is the best way to handle this situation?

Damn girl, theres a lot of Chuck-ell-ing in that post. :D

Blood samples showed no trace of alcohol but did show concentrated levels of Risperdal, Xanax, Zoloft and Ritalin.

Stay tuned, when Johnny enters Junior High. (pun intended).:D

Do not blame whoever you plan on blaming. This reaction (one size fits all) is a liability concern and based on Liability Insurance. Most of current law, imo, is written by insurance cos and trial lawyers.

Housing for FLDS children has issues

The Salt Lake Tribune

Article Last Updated: 05/04/2008 02:31:43 AM MDT

A check of the Department of Family and Protective Services Web site shows some facilities now housing FLDS children have been written up for violations.

Kidz Harbor in Liverpool, for example, was cited in February for lack of supervision that allowed two children to engage in sexual activity. Also this year, Cal Farley failed to report bruises on a child and a critical injury; a staff member also ridiculed a child for not finishing a task.

Presbyterian Children's Homes & Services, which operates both foster homes and group shelters, was cited last year for foster parents who held inappropriate conversations in front of children; used discipline that included use of a belt and making a child stand on one foot in a closed closet; and failing to report a 17-year-old girl had run away.

- Brooke Adams

Dr Phil points out that foster care children are at 73% risk for jail and living on the street.

isnt it odd you cant build a strip club or put a porn store in just any area,,,you get lots of opposition,,yet churches are welcome everywhere,,,yet more children are sexually abused in churches than strip clubs and porn stores,,yet the system continues.
Should there be a head tax similiar to casinos? That would bring in additional revenue for the states to continue investigating all the sexual abuses cases that occur in churches,,,yes we have freedom of religion in the usa,,but freedom isnt free
