ET Founder
So I just want to take a minute to let everyone on ET know how much I appreciate your participation here. When I first started Elite Trader back in 1997, I had quit my job as a residential construction manager and started trading my nest egg from home. It didn't take me too long to realize a couple things:
It was on those two premises that I started ET. I knew that trading was hard, but that really wasn't the insurmountable obstacle. I was confident that I could find an edge and work it. My real problem was that I was basically going nuts being by myself. I desperately needed a way to communicate with other guys who were going through the same challenges that I was. So when I had put all positions on, I would research...... day and night.... whatever it took to get myself the knowledge I needed to construct an interactive site. Now keep in mind that this was so far back in the internet days that Yahoo wasn't even a "search engine". It was merely a directory of sites that you had to manually drill down through. So for example, if you wanted to find ET on Yahoo, you would have to go to Yahoo > Directory > Investing > Day Trading. At the time, my site was only one out of maybe two or three listings at the most.
Needless to day, times have changed a lot since then. But one thing hasn't, and that's my desire to create and maintain a site that traders love. So I just want to sincerely say thanks to all of you who have participated over the years, even those who have just registered. I also want to reinforce that ET isn't just another web site for traders. This site has a history that few, if any others have, and I STILL have a burning desire to make Elite Trader the best site it can possibly be. I can't always guarantee that changes and feature requests will instantly happen, but what I can guarantee is that your voice will be heard, and that I am always moving in the direction of making ET better, not worse.
So in summary, I just appreciate everyone on this site who contributes and makes ET a better place, and I wish you guys a profitable 2014.

- Trading is Lonely
