Just off the top of your head, what do you think of when you hear the term "hell-bent"

No peeking at dictionary. Just off the top of your head, in your own words, what do you think of should you hear someone say I'm hell bent on .... [_____________]?
 
Its a term I heard on old US western movies. I believe it is suppose to mean you will do everything in your power to accomplish the task at hand.

In the original Star Trek TV series season 3 episode 6 entitled Spectre Of The Gun the Dr. McCoy character uses it to describe the Earp gang (the Sheriff & his brother mainly).
