Just let go!

If one has a thoroughly-tested and consistently-profitable trading plan, there is no "emotional part" unless one won't follow it. If he won't follow it, then he very likely has little business trading in the first place.
being human is first and foremost in life, ignoring that fact is a necessary and a formidable task in trading, insulting and passing judgement is also a human trait that need be stifled in life and trading

Why do we need luck, if all we have to do win is just let go?

I think you're confusing trading with poker. Trading doesn't care about your self-esteem, it's all about KNOWING what to do and doing it. There is no bluffing in trading. You aren't looking for your opponents' tells. There is only knowing and not knowing, everything else is dross.

As you'll note in the original post, the OP italicized EDGE, meaning trading knowledge is a pre-requisite before a trader can successfully trade. Without an edge and proper trading knowledge one will simply give their money to other traders.

About emotions and attachment: almost all traders, especially the-trade-from-home-discretionary-traders grapple with emotions and attachment while trading.

And most of us that have been around for a while know it is emotions and attachment to our trading results that really is detrimental to our performance. Only if we didn't care about how we performed and traded like a machine and traded our EDGE every time it appeared and let winners run and cut our small losses then all of us would be net profitable.

But most traders struggle with trade management, they get out too soon, they let their losses get huge hoping it will turn around, they are paralyzed when they see their edge, they THINK "this time it won't work, it'll go against me, I'll lose money, and losing will make me feel crappy." This is a classic case of having attachment to one’s results, which is holding a trader back.

Imagine trading without thinking, and trading freely and trading like it’s a relaxing activity instead of making it a stressful one in your own mind. Imagine trading without any attachment to your results or trading without having any attachment to money, and letting the market do what it does, which is take its natural course - after all, once you put on a trade you have no idea what is going to happen, the market could do anything, why would this stress you out? If you already know this most fundamental part about trading there should be no rush of emotion, win or lose.

It is funny how life works and this realization sets in with some maturity, if you want something and obsess about it, it usually will get away from you and your emotional attachment to IT will make your decision making process erratic, harried and faulty, but if you didn't care about it and just let go and let it take its natural course, then you are calm, there is no emotional aggravation and you can make sound decisions.

This is true in life as it is in trading. One trader’s humble opinion!

Exactly.

Wow... you trade real money and you don't feel emotion? I thought most rules were broken primarily due to emotions, otherwise we are all fools here, choosing to ingnore rules to reject profits.

What is there to get emotional about?

Have no emotional attachment to the trade no matter what it does. For when you get to this emotional state you will become a successful trader.

Good luck!

It would appear to work in marriage too. Whatever she slings at you, take it with celestial Equanimity.
