Julian Assange arrested in London

The Net is already anarchy and has been for a long time. Only those who have chosen to ignore that fact are coming that realization now. Very elementary example: If you ever purchased something online and not paid sales tax then you're an anarchist.

Quote from 377OHMS:

If the net is used for anarchy the net will be regulated, controlled, restricted. Congratulations.

The White Zone is for loading and unloading only. :)

Great article! Perfectly expressed.

The new Reformation: how Julian Assange broke the world and why no one can put it back together

Yesterday, I linked to a post by Advocatus Diaboli in which he discusses WHY the emergence of an organization like Wikileaks is so important:

We never had anything comparable to WikiLeaks in recorded history. Imagine a decentralized, inexpensive, easy to setup/update/maintain system which can disseminate leaked digital information to anybody who has the curiosity to find out. While there have been whistleblower websites and blogs for years, they were largely individual efforts with a very ephemeral existence and limited readership.

He’s right. The emergence of Wikileaks and similar entities is a complete game-changer. Let me illustrate why with a historical comparison.

Next will be his alleged suicide in jail. CIA spin doctors are busy at work crafting the details of his death as you read. A set of new laws will be passed making it a felony to read, store or possess US secret documents. These new laws will be amended to the patriot act. US will firewall the internet copying the Chinese.

How do you do an alleged suicide?

"In a free society we're supposed to know the truth," Paul insisted. "In a society where truth becomes treason, then we're in big trouble. And now, people who are revealing the truth are getting into trouble for it.

Obama is a bigger danger to the US than Assange.

You have to ask, where does the press get its Freedom from? the successful ideology that happens to preside over a given era? Jefferson might have said it best when he described them as "God given inalienable rights" and "self evidentiary truths" We're at the question can you purport to have objective perspective while being stuck hopelessly in subjectivity? Can you legitimately declare "My motivations don't need to be scrutinized in the light of day", what regime in history didn't think that? Transparency is a failsafe natural angel, keeping watch over the
cattle.

It's a disgrace that he has been jailed, when he is not even yet charged with a crime, the Swedish authorities merely want to question him in relation to a possible alleged crime. He should simply exercise the right to remain silent and refuse to answer any questions at all, no one has an obligation to talk unless they want to. This just shows the lack of liberty and legal protections in the UK and Sweden.
