Does anybody remember the pets.com Super Bowl ad? That was the end of the company. And here we are crypto having the stupidest ad with the moving QR code, etc.

It is all over now. Oh yeah, there is that multiverse thingy too... Anyhow mark my word, BTC under 20K a year from now...

It did feel like they were pushing crypto kinda hard. And the EVs. I'm anxious to see if people are actually going to buy the EVs. I think it's a huge mistake for auto makers to pour so much into them before knowing if there's even that much of a market for them.

I've talked to auto shop owners in my area that tell me stories of batteries failing because owners are not managing them properly, then the owners get upset and sell them. When a car dies on the road, you don't just "bring them gas" - you need a special setup to come out and charge the battery and it takes time. I think they have a role going forward, but I feel like we're getting ahead of ourselves before the technology is where it needs to be.

EVs certainly give the powers-that-be more ways to control people (geofencing, monitoring, limited driving capacity, etc.).

I own an Audi etron. Coolest car I've ever owned. Electrics are here to stay. It's like getting the iphone for the first time, once you realize what it is, no way we will trend back to the other way. I bought this car assuming it would only be a local driver, I do still have a gas powered vehicle for long trips. This need will change over time. Hopefully in my lifetime we will have full self driving, and in road electric charging. In road charging would reduce battery pack size/resource use substantially. Looking forward to a full self driving electric RV as well.

After a year of owning a Tesla EV, I can honestly say it's the best car I've ever driven and would not ever go back to a non-EV car (edit, most likely never a non-Tesla even, since I quite enjoy the autopilot a lot)

I might, however, get a 2nd car but it would have to be a manual transmission for nostalgia

After one whole year? Really. What happens if your car's batteries need replacing in 5 years and the price of cobalt is through the roof?

Wouldn't you like a car that just "works"?

IC cars can do the same thing. That has nothing to do with electric and everything to do with software. My wife’s Mercedes does more monitoring than my Tesla did. And the Cadillac auto driving feature has a camera that watches your eyeballs to make sure you are watching the road.

wait till you have an accident. That’s what put me off. You will need a second car just in case (and a large unused home equity line)
